Blue amber is fossilized tree resin from the ancient tree Hymenaea protera.

It is a younger amber, approximately 15 to 20 million years old, compared to Baltic amber, which is 20 to 30 million years old.

Blue amber is mined extensively in only two places, the Dominican Republic and Indonesia. Only a fraction of the amber mined is the rare blue color.

The blue fluorescence comes from trace elements of aromatic hydrocarbon component perylene, according to the GIA.

Sumatran blue amber is naturally a cognac-red tone and Dominican amber is naturally a light honey color.

This amber is sought after for its unusual blue hue, that bursts forth when seen under black light or ultraviolet (UV) light.

By shining the light on one of the pieces, you will witness a fluorescent blue tone that will launch you from the earth to space.

Many have guessed at this rare natural phenomena has energetic connection with Atlantis and Lemuria.

Amber is a powerful healer and cleanser of the body, mind and spirit.

It also cleanses and protects the environment.

Amber draws disease from the body, healing and renewing the nervous system and balancing the right and left parts of the brain.

It absorbs pain and negative energy, helping to alleviate stress.

It is also known to be a wonderful good luck charm for abundance, healing, success, vitality and joy.
